Microblading is an extremely detail-oriented process that takes approximately two hours to complete at the initial appointment. The results will last for up to 2 years before beginning to fade, which is why it is imperative to select a microblading artist that pays attention to detail and has outstanding technique. At the end of the initial appointment, a follow up “touchup” appointment will be set approximately 6 weeks following the first appointment. THIS IS A TWO-SESSION SERVICE FOR OPTIMAL HEALING AND RESULTS.
Are you tired of maintaining brows that you're never happy with? With microblading, your brows will remain perfectly shaped and require little to no maintenance. Microblading is not the "old-school" bold, unnatural lines you may have seen before. Microblading applies individual long and short strokes that mimic your natural hair growth pattern. As a result, the microblading strokes will look incredibly realistic and perfectly shaped.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
BEFORE THE FIRST SESSION
We will answer any questions the website does not answer for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
A $100 non-refundable deposit must be made to book any microblading service. Once your appointment is booked, client medical history and consent forms will be sent to the email address provided as well as pre/post care. Do not consume caffeine, alcohol or take any aspirin or blood thinners 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Gather photos of brows you like that you can bring to your appointment. This is NOT required. Feel free to bring a book, tablet, headphones, etc as there will be downtime during the procedure (such as waiting for time to pass as you numb.) Do not book your appointment if you plan on being in the direct sun or water within the first 14 days (i.e. beach/lake trips, etc.) It is important to plan to keep your brows covered and protected from the direct sun during the healing process.
DURING THE FIRST SESSION (Approximately 2 hours)
We will outline your new eyebrow shape with a cosmetic pencil to allow you to visualize the new shape that can be achieved. Your new shape will be based on your desires but never straying away from your specific facial features and how the brow should line up with them (i.e. where your brow starts, arch is, and brow tail ends.) This is typically the longest part of the appointment and we will not move on until client approves. Our philosophy is "less is more." You can always add more at the touchup appointment but cannot take away. If you are unsure about desired shape, we will lean a bit more on the conservative side with the option to go more bold at the touchup. We cannot go from bold to conservative. The pigment chosen will be what the microblading artist feels will look and heal best, but the client will have a say in this as well.
You receive 5% topical lidocaine to numb your brow area and ensure comfort during the procedure. Then, I will apply the semi-permanent color by microblading each hair stroke individually, slowly building up a design that looks authentic, natural and flawless. Each microblading design is specific to each client. Unlike some microblading artists, I never use stencils, as I believe that each set of eyebrows should be tailored to the client's unique facial features and personality. Symmetry is ensured by using a flexible disposable ruler designed for this procedure. The pigment is much darker than it will heal and will continue to be darker for the first few days until it lightens by up to 50% during healing. Session 2/touchup appointment will be booked for approximately 6-8 weeks from the first session before you leave.
Most clients feel little to no pain during the service and you have the right to stop the service at any time. Your microblading artist also has the right to stop the service at anytime if she feels that artist and client cannot come to an agreement on shape or color selection. The deposit will be forfeited due to time.
AFTER THE FIRST SESSION (Approximately 6-8 weeks)
You will be advised on aftercare thoroughly. The brow area may be sensitive - this is completely normal. You may also notice some residual pigment on the surface of your skin around the brows or redness. This will subside quickly. Your brows will go through changes over the next 6-8 weeks during the healing process including darkening, flaking, lightening, and itching. THIS IS NORMAL. You may return to work the next day as there is no downtime. Once the first session is complete, we CANNOT make any changes to your brows or touch them again for a minimum of 6 weeks.
DURING THE SECOND SESSION (Approximately 60-90 minutes)
This session will perfect your brows. The second session is shorter than the first because we do not need to draw on the new shape again as it is already there and we are creating less hairstrokes than the first session. Healing and aftercare is the same as the first session.
AFTER THE SECOND SESSION
Enjoy your newly microbladed brows! They will naturally fade over 1-2 years because microblading is not as deep as a tattoo. Touchup appointments are necessary to maintain them. Pricing varies based on how long it has been since last appointment. The more sun exposure and exfoliation your microbladed brows go through, the faster they will fade. Always wear SPF!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (NOT COVERED ABOVE):
Can I bring a guest? My child(ren)?
For the safety of everyone involved, you are allowed one guest over the age of 18. Children under 18 are not permitted in the treatment room. Children under 13 are not to be left unattended in the lobby and must be accompanied by an adult.
Can you touchup my brows if I had them microbladed somewhere else?
A consultation is required and if the service is approved, you will be charged a minimum of 50% of the current price of a first session. Going forward you will be granted touchups at The Beauty Society's standard pricing.
Can I get microblading if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
For the safety of you and your little one, The Beauty Society will not perform this service on anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
Healed results vary for each client based on skin type, health issues, and aftercare. Clients with excessively oily skin or large pores in the brow area may not have healed strokes that appear as crisp as others. The oil production creates a soft, diffused look and may look more powdery than it did immediately after the initial session. Clients with naturally darker/ethnic skin will have microbladed hairstrokes that do not appear as defined as the skin is already dark. These client may require touchups more frequently. Please make any concerns you may have known and come to your appointment with realistic expectations. NO HEALED GUARANTEES ARE MADE.
